NEILS is a non-profit, community-based Center for Independent Living. We serve Clark, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Ralls, and Pike counties in Missouri. We strive to empower persons with any disabilities, to have their voices heard, and to live independently within their communities. Our services have been developed and altered by consumers through surveys and needs assessments done throughout each year. Our Board of Directors oversees the overall operation of the Center, with over 51% of those people serving on Board being persons with disabilities. We are also proud to say that over 51% of our staff are persons with disabilities as well. Between 2007 and 2008 our staff size more than doubled as it was necessary in order to provide the services and programs due to an initiative to outreach to persons with disabilities. We have been so successful that we have been looking for a new office center to allow for future growth with the new upcoming services and programs.
Through monetary contributions from the public as well as the private sector, people with disabilities can look forward to growth and expansion in the services available to them!
